For a long time, I’ve had both these girls as my Fashion Inspiration. The individuality of their style (although Nicole’s was arguably sparked by Rachel Zoe) have led me to constantly trace myself back to images of their looks saved on my iPhone(my handy fashion catalogue), just to keep me grounded as to how a true Fashionista carries themselves.

Ive had my Nicole and Mary-Kate fazes in fashion where i would only where what they've worn. Bugged eyed glasses and Emilio Pucci printed mini dresses, for that laid back Hippie Glamour Girl. Draped in nothing but a statement slouchy bag (Balenciaga Motorcycle Bag) and HeadBand to keep that frizzy hair intact. Heels intact, cuz we petite girls dont like to be walked all over and a fresh face to keep us forever young.

Then of cours there where the times where it was all about, Over sized cardi’s matched with an old flannel shirt that could both be paired with ankle clutching skinny jeans, both plain and thorn. The essential over sized bag to carry on the homeless look a step further as it practically carries all your junk (and an extra pair of flip flops to tend your aching feet after a long parade on 8inches). The messy hair should both be flaunted and hidden at times...if you really havent had time to was it through pairing it up with a over sized beanie or a more British gentleman approach with a bowler hat. Staggering heel in toe, as well as massive jewelry to bring an added lux to a Grungy Homeless look. The contrast is what makes this stand out the most.
My closet is usually divided into Two Halves, Rich Hippie and Luxurious Grunge. Spring and Summer are the obvious seasons to embrace that free movement while the chilly months of Autum and Winter brings about the incentive to wrap up in something more knitted.
Androgyny has appealed to me from the early years of Tomboy'ness and arguably is the result of my view on equality and the fact that someone else's taught of thing shouldn't cloud your own personal judgement. Ive never been a girly girl. I may wear a dress, but never in the grace of a young Lady, i may dress up in black most of the time but would often be accompanied by a shy exterior. either way i like to bounce of norms and predictable behaviour.....
Yet now a days, I’ve molded both looks together as The Rich Hippie look has become so L.A (and so boring, no thanks to Zoe) while The Olsen look is what most people try to COPY rather than interpritate inorder to feel “IN”.
So Lately its been all about The Grunge Hippie for me, there not necassarly sprung out of two different worlds as they so much in common. For example, thier both un-hyginic pervs in light of Hippies never shaving thier legs...and other places. While “Grungy Dudes” smell the pitts of their shirt and throw it over thier greasy unkept hair. I wont comment on my personal Hygien cuz frankly.....YOU WOULD BE UTTERLY DISGUSTED!
Then their is the political elements . Hippies protesting for basic Human Rights and how we are constantly being denied this at a daily basis, the evidence of this? World Peace still being a distant acid trip fantasy away.....

And then there are well Not Grungse, but more of angered musicians (I dont think that anyone grunge calls themselves grunge), broadcasting their riots through our television sets and radio’s. How the young are being suppressed by overworked Narks and our inability to speak, feel and express freely without being discriminated against. I’m drawn to the Seattle music scene mostly because this sound was derived out of a pit of economic depression, where high unemployment was active and people didn't have much to do other than...slack around? As well as the anger toward society and how where categorized in degrading stereotypes that follow us throughout life, limiting our ability to see and experience things they way they are.
At the end of the day im a Hippie at heart hoping that one day i will finally witness a civilized society....Because believe me, with the conflict going on (and we’ve turned a blind eye to most of them) there is no way we can call ourselves rational human beings. The harsh critic and brutal honesty often received by me is usually the result of my no tolerance for bullshit.
